Some thoughts are so compelling that they
refuse to confine themselves to the head,
relocating at will, shocking the hands so
the blood scatters and the fingers become
numb on the wheel, you need that blood to
drive and now you're two pints short. What
strikes you first is the sheer force of
the thought and not the content; and when
you reflect it hits you again, this time
in the gut, your life rushing to your
stomach leaving your sight dim, you need
that sight to drive and now you're blind.
The whole of the mechanical process takes
less than a second- the thought, the reflection
and then the aftershock, the realization
that there is no one to understand, and
that saps your will, you need that will to
drive and now you have nowhere to go.
